Waiting game

MissyMoo2 (2) had her appointment with the hip specialist a couple of days ago.

It had been six months since her last check at which the specialist had said that she would need surgery if things didn't improve and this appointment was to check if there had been any improvement.

The experience was irritatingly ambiguous at its best and infuriating at its worst. The good I can take from it is that, given the slight improvement, the specialist didn't straight out say that surgery would be required as he had done six months ago. He did, however, say that he would need to do more research on her case before he could come to a conclusion.

So now, I wait. Sometime in the next two weeks I will receive a telephone call which will determine my daughter's fate. Well, no, that's a bit dramatic. I will receive a telephone call which will determine whether we go back to Sydney to seek a second opinion again! And then, it's our decision.

It's a huge decision though, and one I'd rather not have to make.

So keep up those prayers please. It may make me sound like a crackpot to some, but in recent months I have really felt that prayer does have power - MissyMoo2's hip reprieve last year and MissyMoo3's birth being two major examples as well as a number of minor examples in day-to-day life, where I've felt that, without prayer, I may have had to be carted off to the loony bin.

Anyway, I found a couple of prayers which I will be keeping in mind - a prayer for a sick child and for special intentions.
